Batteries are good sources of conservation of energy, can be used to store energy for subsiquent use from touch light batteries to high capacity batteries such as inverter or motor systems. This batteries are either wet or dry cell batteries meaning their source or mode of operation could either be through liquid or solid substances.
Liquid batteries otherwise known as tubular batteries containing the specific acid and water as its electrolyte with plates which could be lead(Pb), its the constant chemical reaction due to the passage of electricity while charging and also the out flow of electricity while discharging meaning while you use it , its this concept that the principle of conversion of energy by batteries are based, from chemical energy to electrical energy vice-versa.
Similar case with the dry cell batteries conversion of energies.
So how do i detect a bad battery ?
A good inverter battery is not detected by a spark check, many persons have made the mistake of sparking together the two terminals of a battery then it sparks heavily and its concluded that the battery is good , NO its not always the case batteries are detected to be good by duration meaning time it took to carry a particular load (heavy load) by load it could mean bulbs (200 watts in its numbers as fitting to your inverter. also beware of overloads), if the battery lasts long on heavy loads means it will certainly perform better on your average or minor load.
A bad Inverter battery will take no time to drain after a short time of use even on minimal load and most times it also might take short time to get full and due to this its easy to detect a bad battery awaiting replacement.
so how do we go about it?
Wet cell batteries are of more advantage as they may be revived easily than the dry cell batteries( which have very minimal chance of restoration).
